The territory
The province of Macerata offers a harmonious variety of
scenery: the sea, hills and mountains which continue as far as
the eye can see, offer a serene and satisfying sight.
The Sibillini Mountains National Park
A chain of mountains up to the highest
Mount Vettore (2.476 m.) offer a unique territory where
magic, nature, history and folklore made a unrepeatable
site. The Park is spotted by medieval villages scattered in
the form of crown at the foot of the mountains.
From Spring to Autumn it is possible to discover the natural
environment and the historical and cultural aspect of this
territory .
A
net of paths wind through the mountains and opportunities of
doing sports and having fun are endless.Horse riding,
mountan biking, hang-gliding , rock and ice climbing, ands
skiing in winter. Visitors may also apply to the "Houses of
the Park" for getting guided excursions to historic and
naturalistic trips trough the Park.
Mont Vettore and Pian Perduto
The highest and most rugged peaks of the Sibillini offers a
breathtaking views continuing
up to Pian Perduto, a tableland of tectonic origins, dotted
with valleys , coloured with unique flowering of lentils
fields at the beginning of Summer.
No visitor should forget to taste local meat and lentils
wisely cooked on local old recepies.
The coast
180 km long coastline offers beautiful beaches starting from
the promontory of Monte Conero which is a Regional Park and
one of the most peculiar feature of the entire Adriatic
shore , offering a view of rare and suggestive impact.
 From
Portonovo Bay ( uncontaminated wonder of nature) to Sirolo
(a picturesque location perched high above the sea) ; Numana
, the old roman town of Humana, with its well equipped
marina, clean waters and brilliant
colours ; Porto Recanati the pictoresque "drawing- room on
the sea " and its 8 km sandy beach separating the town from
the sea; Civitanova Marche, with its long beach divided by
the fishing port from where tourist ferries to Croatia leave,
and one of the most famous center in the world for the
manufaturing of italian shoes, and down to Porto S.Elpidio,
Lido di Fermo, Porto S. Giorgio, Grottammare.
The Marche, are fully equipped to offer the visitor more
than just a holiday of sun, as it gives also the opportunity
to enjoy the beauties of the inland areas in a perfect
cocktail of naturalistic, cultural, historic and ...
gastronomic variety.
The Marche are not a mass tourism favourite destination
which is one of its gratest qualities since it enables to
offer an enriching human scale experience within its well
maintained natural and cultural environment.
Le Marche offers a unique site for a
perfect holiday where each one can still partecipate as a
subject to the phisical and human environment and live an
experience full of meaning . An experience which is
difficult to be found elsewhere and which explains why
le Marche is called to be "the whole
ITALY in one Region.................".
